Imagine if every Democratic town and ward committee across the Commonwealth served as a hub of grassroots political activism and meaningful civic engagement.
Fresh Slate 2024 is a grassroots campaign to make the Democratic Party in Massachusetts for democratic, engaging, and inclusive. Building on the work we have done here in Ward 18 and several other Boston ward committees, we seek to energize and engage Democrats for critically important work that lies ahead. We formally launched FS24 at the MassDems State Convention in Lowell on Saturday, Sept. 23, where it was well received. Many people stopped by our table to talk about the challenges of running a town/ward committee and many added a leaf to our democracy tree (see below). We had some great conversations and over 70 people signed up to join a monthly meeting on Zoom for community building and share ideas for deepening and widening voter engagement.

- Complete this Civic Engagement Checklist (Google Form) to assess your Democratic committee in three areas: (1) Democratic Governance & Transparency, (2) Community Engagement, and (3) Diversity and Inclusion.
